Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox is a Scottish born and bred singer. Her birth date was 24 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson, and Thomas Allison Lennox were her parents. Lennox was accepted by the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 1970s where she took flute lessons as well as the harpsichord for a period of three years. Her budget was supplemented by a student's allowance, and she worked part-time to earn a living. Lennox was a student in the Royal Academy of Music in London, was not happy with her performance compared to the other students. She began considering other options. Lennox was a flute player as a member of a group in 1976 named Dragons Playground. However she left when the band was featured on I.T.V.s talent competition New Faces. Between 1977 and 1980 she was the singer in The Tourists. A British pop group. In this band, she met Dave Stewart who would later be part of Eurythmics. Lennox started working on her first solo album Diva and it was released by 1992. As a commercial album as well as critically the album was an immense success. Nostalgia Lennoxs six-album solo that was released in October 2014 included Nostalgia Lennox. The C.D. Lennox has selected her favourite blues music, soul and jazz songs. In addition in May 2019 Lennox published Lepidoptera an album of four piano tracks that she improvised. The E.P. It is also a companion to her Now, I let you go... installation, which was displayed at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. It is her first album which was independently released.
